Thanks for the tips and links. I've replaced it and put @ 100mi on it so far with not problems. No way I could budge the nut with a 1/2" breaker bar. Just couldn't keep the pinion from rotating. I ended up having to use an impact to just get it started. I did tighten it up a smidgen too far though. It tightened a whole lot easier than it loosened. Anyone know what the symtoms would be if you tightened too far and crushed the collapsable spacer? Safety Fast! Gordie Bird '62 MGA '67 MGBGT |
