This is the Ad... I originally posted this for $10,000 but recently had
a knowledgeable restoration specialist appraise it. Apparently it had
been hit (front and back) and paid a visit to a body shop. It will also
need some body work. Fortunately, the frame is good and the engine is
good but the body could stand to go to a chop shop to achieve fully
restored-to-original condition. All totaled, I'm dropping my price to
$6,000 but will consider best offer. Serious inquiries only please.

Well, it seems like a lot for a car that has been hit front and back, and
"repaired" so that you can still tell it was damaged! Why bother repairing it
at all?? It really depends on how much bodywork it really needs. And since
there is no 'frame', I'm not sure what he refers to in saying that 'the frame
is good'. OTOH, a running C with no rust isn't a common proposition, so $6,000
may not be a bad deal. Personally, I would take it to have it checked out.
Have someone follow you to see if it's really going down the road straight, vs
crab-wise. Take it to someone who can check both the mechanics and the
bodywork needed.
