Steve,
When my 70B had low oil pressure, I replaced the main bearings while I had
the engine and tranny out for an O/D replacement. The oil pressure has
stayed at 50 while running and 30 hot idle. Should be a 4 hour job start to
finish with help and air tools when possible.
It was a lot easier then doing the ring job on my 69C which we just lifted
the 6 cyl. up 6 inches off the engine mounts to get to the rods from
underneath. That was a ten hour job.(-; But we did have to hone each
cylinder and that took time. We took to many breaks from frustration )-;
Morale of the story is pull the engine... and replace the clutch componets
while your at it.
