In the UK there are certainly specialist classic car insurers that will give
you a policy with a fairly high mileage limit, or no limit at all, still
with an agreed value on the car. In the US it is probably the same. My
first BGT was an only car, as was the Spitfire that followed it, run as an
only car for about 5 years. An unlimited mileage classic policy will cost
more than the strictly limited policies, but still less than a standard
policy.

There is a simple (if time-consuming) solution - just buy a classic car
magazine (preferably one with a "budget" classic, not a mint Ferrari, on the
cover), call up every insurance company in there for a quote (there's bound
to be plenty), and choose the one that suits you best. While
recommendations (or warnings) from other BGT owners may be of some use for
general guidance, there really is no substitute for calling around yourself;
circumstances can vary your quote by so much that what is cheapest for one
person is unlikely to be cheapest for the guy standing next to him.
