I should have added, there is actually a novel about a fuel-cell-powered
MGB. Titled "ZEV-1" (for Zero Emissions Vehicle), it was self-published by
an enthusiast. Not a masterpiece of literature, but you might find it
interesting, since you brought up the subject.
I have a copy, but I don't know where it is at the moment, or I would
include the details.
