Yeah, well, MG Rover has been doing pretty badly for a few years, and
springs are cheaper than hydrogas units. With the later cars I wouldn't be
surprised at cost-cutting at every possiblity. Which then means no-one will
buy them because the alternatives are so much better, so the company loses
even more money, and... well, we all know what happened :(
