Not only does mine not work in that manner, in cold weather I have
to hold it over the whole time or it will cancel immediately.
I have found, however, that in warm weather, if I haven't used it
for a while, holding it over for several seconds (rather that
turning it and immediately letting go) we greatly increase the
amount of time it stays on before cancelling (maybe 10 seconds
as opposed to two).
