So the time has come to replace the Michelin XZXs on the car. I bet they
are 10 years old.
I'm going with 185/70R14s. As I can't afford to buy new wheels at this
time (from Kelvin :-) or anyone else really)
I'm trying to figure out what to get. I need 5. The spare isn't really a
tire anymore. Unless I go to a junk yard and get a compact spare out of
an Altima or something.
I've been looking at Tire Rack and they have a couple of tire choices.
There is the Kumho Power Star 758. Looks like an economy car tire, it's
wear rating is 400AA.
Or there is the Sumitomo HTR 200. H Rated, and looks pretty nice.
The Sumitomo's are out of stock until mid July. I can probably live with
that.
The Kumho's are also available at Discount Tire, which would be very
easy to just drive in and have the tires put on for pretty cheap.
Probably a better price than tires + shipping + mount/balance from TireRack.
Other tires to look at?
