And that project was finishing of installing the new SU pair (HS4).
Setting up the throttle cable I find that it is shredding and
unravelling where it is pinched into the fitting that holds the cable to
the throttle linkage. It has broken quite a few strands and fiddling
with it just made it obvious as they unravelled. In other words, it was
bad already but just how bad was hidden because the strands had stayed
in place.
I need a new throttle cable so all work comes to a halt. It is Sunday
afternoon and my parts places are closed!
I was going to have a bit of a play with it anyway but when fitting my
remote-starter switch I knocked off a red/yellow wire from the starter
solonoid (I assume) and for the life of me at the moment I can't find
where it fits back on! I have cleaned off a buch of grime and muck but
can't find where the male spade terminal on the end of the wire fits (it
comes up from below and the spade is bent at right angles - it should be
easy to see the female bit but...) and nothing is going to happen
without it! But of course you always have trouble seeing the obvious
when you are rushed for time - just another frustration that has taken
up some of my precious little work time and a job left undone grrr.
And I have run out of time (I just had a little bit of Sunday left to do
this after getting called back into work) again.
How frustrating... something that should just take an hour or two
stretches over a week. Oh well, just a few minutes work left (unless
Murphy steps in again).
