If I was going to hack saw that lever, I'd thread a nut or a die on first to
act as a guide, and to clear the threads after cutting. Probably remove the
lever and chuck it in a vise.
I was interested to see this whole thread re: the high idle, since I'm
planning to track down that problem myself. Initially I had leaks at the
manifold, since resolved them. I kinda suspect the poppet valves, although I
will also check that the butterfly's are sealing correctly.
Is there some reason I can't just solder the poppets shut?
