I use the same grease as for the suspension etc. Some recommend silver
grease as some always leaks through onto the wires, but since the grease
(the tiny bit that leaks on mine anyway) catches dust and goes black anyway
I don't think it matters. I think the secret is more down to only smearing
a little on the splines and the tapered seats, and not gobbing great lumps
on.
