I dunno Albert, rear discs seemed like a good idea to me too. I was
surprised at how many listers were dead set against it. The SAAB conversion
being
especially attractive, since I'm on my third SAAB and I could cough up the
necessary parts, probably for free.
Unfortunately, the lack of a parking brake seemed like an insurmountable
obstacle. So, I've decide to devote my time to more important aspects of the
MGB...like keeping it running!

P.S. www.spridget.com sells an MGB disc brake conversion kit for $549.95.
However, it is only for the banjo style rear end.

Swap, I swear it looked so simple even I could do it. Would I? Nah, I've been
firmly convinced that I'm better off with the system that I've got. Drums in
the
rear and Discs in front. Hey, who needs the anguish and worry that I just
might push the brake pedal just a little too hard and my MGB would probably
flip
over wildly (or worse)! But, with the setup I & over 500,000 other hapless
MGB
owners have and live with (happily) at least I know I'm safe from having too
much braking power (what ever the heck that means)
