Eric,
Now I'm getting a clearer picture as to why nearly all of the Gray Beards on
the MG Chat List were ready to take away the keys to my MGB when I naively
blundered and asked... "Duh, does anybody know of a place or website where I
could go to find out how to install Rear Disc Brakes on my MGB?" WOW!! Did that
ever open up the flood gates of Hell...! And when most of the threat's of
bodily
harm and the horrible hex's that had been placed on my family name had been
lifted or had subsided to the point I could safely venture outside without a
disguise on, I finally got up enough nerve to ask what the big deal was. BOY
was
I ever given the Riot Act about what a Stupid Idea and terrible waste of
everybody's time it was for me to have brought up such a foolish and ignorant
question and how could I again subject the list to such a putzy idea? How could
I
even dare to ask about Rear Disc Brake's (RDB's)?? So bravely I will again
ask....Sheeezez, after all hadn't they already been installed as standard
equipment on the MGA Twin Cam? And when that model was fazed out hadn't front
disc
brakes become like standard equipment on The MGA 1600? And how come every once
in a while somebody will even slip me the latest "How To Install Rear Disc
Brakes on an MGB" DYI? The last one was an almost too easy Saab Rear Disc Brake
Swap, I swear it looked so simple even I could do it. Would I? Nah, I've been
firmly convinced that I'm better of with the system that I've got. Drums in the
rear and Discs in front. Hey, who needs the anguish and worry that I just
might push the brake pedal just a little too hard and my MGB would probably
flip
over wildly (or worse)! But, with the setup I & over 500,000 other hapless MGB
owners have and live with (happily) at least I know I'm safe from having too
much braking power (what ever the heck that means)
