These astronomical car prices are due in part to rich folks having more money,
relatively, than they used to have. US government tax policies have caused a
redistribution of wealth. With their greater forturnes, rich people are
bidding among themselves for scarce goodies.
A perfectly nice 2-bedroom home on a half-acre lot located near me in the
upper Napa Valley (California) was purchased a year ago for about $800,000.
The new owner just demolished it so that he can replace it with a fancier
home. This will be his weekend home.
When you see these inflated prices on exotic cars, remember that there was a
time not that long ago when normal people could afford collector cars.
