I have a question regarding shop costs for work on my
1971 MGB.
I have worn kingpins, and so I'm goign to rebuild the
front suspension. I was planning to do it myself, and
I've been assembling parts over the last month or so.
These include:
- Rebuilt swivel axles and kingpins
- Wheels bearings - inner and outer
- Wheel seals
- Steering rack boots
- V8 a-arm bushings
- Negative camber a-arms
- Tie rod ends
Now I realize that it's too big a job for me and my
handful of tools, so I called the local MG place for a
quote on what it would cost to rebuild the front end
using my parts. They came back with around $900, or
$1040 if the rubber pieces at the cross member need to
be replaced as well.
This seems high to me, but is it?
