Thank you to all that gave their valuable and spirited advice regarding the use 
of oil. 

While all this was going on, I met an old friend who used to market Agip 
Petroli products locally. He promised to dig up and show me some results of the 
tests that they conducted with respect to running various types of oils in a 
tropical environment.

I will post them if and when he gets them to me.
