On my third B now; the first two ('74 maroon and '69 yellowcar) the heaters
were great. I usually drove around in the snow with the windows down. This
one's got me beat though. I normally change the stat, cover the oil cooler
and keep a chunk of cardboard available for the radiator and it still isn't
quite enough. with this one even in the 30's I have to just about cover the
entire radiator to stay warm enough to drive. I've still got the carcass of
the yellowcar and will eventually gut the thing for it's heater to see if
there's a difference.
Thankfully I just found out that the heater on Jeanette's Jag (SI XJ6)
works quite well. I really don't want to dig into that one right now.
