I am trying to figure out if the temp gauge or sending unit on my '75 B
is bogus, since it tends to read hot for the entire summer.
To help, I bought a new toy at NAPA[0], and have measured some
temperatures when the gauge reads slightly above 'N'.
Head: 200 F
Upper Rad Tank: 195 F
Rad Core (slightly off center): 185 F
Do these numbers look about right (they look right to me, but I don't
know any better)?
For reference, Pullman has cooled quite a bit now, we've been seeing
highs in the upper 70's for the past week or 2. When temps were in the
upper 90s and triple-digits, the gauge read at just below 'H'. I have
not had boil-over problems, even when I took on the Vantage hill.
