I tore down my 3-main engine last week, and just got word from the
machinist that I have one undersized piston. They are all .030 AE
pistons. I'm told the small one is two thou. smaller/lighter than the
others, for a four thou. clearance in the bore. How common is this?
Is it acceptable, or should I find a more closely matched set? My
machinist seemed to think the variation is common in British piston
manufacture.
