If the car runs, run it for a while first. A 67 should have a non-vented
tank and a vented cap, and the valve in the cap should ensure that a small
vacuum is developed in the tank. I found that this is sufficient to prevent
fuel continually running out of the pipes while changing the pump. Either
that or pump the tank dry.
