Some years ago an MGA owner/friend solved the problem by laying a coin on
top of the actuator rod between the choke knob and the facia nut, and
trapping it in place via the force of the cable return spring. For cold
weather warm ups they used a quarter, and for mild weather a dime. The
more frugal of us could readjust the cable length slightly and use a nickle
and a penny.
So tight I squeek when I walk.
