Don et al:
My apologeticals for slightly incorrect info on the seat fitments. It's
been a long time since I played with the 69 specific seat. The seat foam is
the same as a 70-72, but the back foam is unique. I'm banking on the rear
frame being stronger than the 63-68 design, since it reclines. That given,
I dont know if the 63-67 foam and coverings would fit the frame correctly.
Anyone tried it??
Most of the earlier seats have rake adjustment by a pair of bolts, but no
reclining facility. The frames are much lighter, but also prone to the
bottom frame cracking and the backs can collapse in a rear end accident
(speaking from experience). I put the original seats back in my 65 MGB race
car and am very happy with the support and comfort with new foams and
diaphragms.
have fun
Kelvin.
