Sorry to intrude, but.....Heck I must have missed this thread and the
original message....
But to clarify a little bit on the email stuff. Yes you can trace an email
to a source providers IP easily. But more than likely DHCP is being used and
actually tracing an email to a users computer is virtually impossible.
(unless said user screws up) And a bigger question is, is the user in
violation of the providers TOS (Terms of Service). If the answer is yes then
you can make a valid complaint against the user to the their provider's
abuse email address. The provider can terminate the users service, but this
is rare in the extreme now-a-days. If the email in question is deemed severe
enough then a bettercourse of action would be to have the admin/moderation
team simply block that user. Of course this isn't fail safe either because
they could simply change email addresse and/or providers. So you see it is a
bit of a vicious circle. Ignoring them may be the best answer and don't
reply to their emails/post becasue that is what they are after. These type
people simply want the attention. Of course this is an assumption on my part
because I missed the original post. Oh well...
On an MG note, I have spent the last few weeks getting my garage set up to
so I can begin the rebuild of my 78 B's engine. SO all you experts be
prepared. I KNOW I will have a bunch of questions in the near future. LOL...
