If you look closely at the rim surrounding the larger of the 2 steel
plugs
on each Smith's angle drive, you'll see a series of numbers.
The transmission end is number BG2401/05 (not specific to B's.
Lots-o-cars)
The gauge end is BG2410/00
These in fact are the Smiths part number for the piece.

Log this as another probably dumb question from the swamper. I thought
the angle drives that connect to the tranny and the speedo were the same
thing. In looking in the Moss Catalogue(MGB16) I find that there are two
part numbers 433-745-which mounts on the speedo and is no longer
available and 021-511- which mounts on the tranny and is available for
$68.20. I have several of these angle drives and a friend needs one .
How do you distinguish between the two as the Moss Catalogue shows the
same picture for both. See page 151, Item #13.
