no LBC, NYC help

Coming to NYC for the FNDY Memorial service on the 18th. Not familiar or 
comfortable with the area. I have heard of other FFs planning on driving to 
various parts of Conn and then taking the train in to the city. Looking for 
people familiar with the area for ideas as to transportation and and/or 
lodging.
