Hmmm, Waxoyl is usually thinned with white spirit, and old oil can contain
acidic contaminants as well as rot rubber which Waxoyl doesn't. Having said
that years ago it was common to spray the underside with the oil from the
sump at every oil change. No poncy block-paved drives in those days, just
an oil-soaked bit of dirt - oil-soaked from the built-in leaks, not the
spraying of the underside.
