This is about a '70 B.

A few years back now I hooked up a replacement alternator without closely
reading the wiring on the new one. (I traded the core at the shop before I
brought it home, I have since learned...)

Anyway, I smoked part of my harness. I got everything taking care of other
than my gas gauge.

Now, three+ years later, I am trying to fix it.

I turned on the key. I checked the voltage level at the sender. The wires were
disconnected, one of them has 40mV and the other is ground. Back at the gauge,
there is no power. Where is the stablizer located and what does it look like?

When I apply voltage to the gauge via a 9volt, it climbs right up...

Am I on the right track thinking that there should be voltage in the wire at
the sender?

My Temp gauge does work still.
