Hi Charley!
Homologation = the kind of class wherein a sportscar fits.
Le Mans is not just the event for the big beasts like Jaguar (many wins
remember with the Silk cut advertised cars driven UK/Dutch drivers), Porche,
Bently etc, but there are classes for "smaller" cars as well.
Remember the infamous Le Mans in the fifties, where Pierre Levegh drove his
Merc into the crowd killing over 80 people?
In the same race the MG A's were winning in their class!
BTW: saw nice Jaguar D Type on a trailer yesterday and on TV as recorded in
a European classic car winter rally, which was wun YES by an MGB.
Cheers,
Hans

Hi Rick,
I don't follow European motorsport any more, so am not up on the
various classes at Le Mans. I seem to remember a class called "Sports
Prototype' and something called homologation (sp?), where they had to
produce and sell a certain # of the cars to be legal. Is that the class
that the X257 is in, or is that a thing of the past?
Cheers,
CR
