The K3 engine is basically a J4 engine with two extra cylinders.
The J4 engine is a hopped up early M type engine (877 cc ?) which
was origially fitted without tuning directly from a Minor.
However, the engine was designed by Wolsely, but the Wolsely
company was bought by Morris before Wolsely brought the car and
engine to market.

An unblown K3 engine was used in a series of standard "K" cars of
two or four seat open cars, (roadsters) and a pillarless saloon.
Kimber had a special Tickford style car with the K3 engine. It
still exists.

By the time the engine got into the K3, very little was left of
the original design except the layout.
