Engine work question

This is a question w/r/t a 1970 MGB.

If I want to change the cam, do I need to pull the oil pump and distributor?
I strongly suspect that I do, but I wouldn't mind finding out different...

Pulling the oil pan with the engine in place is my least favorite MG job, bar 
none.
