Wow, thanks for the quick answers! Now a second question...will HS2's fit on
an 1800 engine? If they really are HS2's and not a componet of...I think
this guy that sold me the engine would be nice enough to trade some
HS4's...he has 7 older B's partioned out up in his attic (I saw HIF4's on his
kitchen counter, doors, trunks, early crossmembers for the front end, etc.).
He saved me probably $400 in other parts he sold/gave me (oil cooler, shifter
shaft, new carb lines, tensioner, luggage rack, etc.) So if you are looking
for parts...he might be the man. Let me know and I will ask him. He also
has a early heritage shell up on a rotor...both for sell (about 6k for both
the rotor and shell). Really impressive guy.
TIA

Scott:
A check of my Haynes SU carburetor book found AUD 502F (front?)
and AUD 502R (rear?) used on the Midget MK III 1275 cc from
1971-1972. The book says they are HS2s!! I think somewhere
someone has used float bowls, lids or componenets from another
application. I know that the float chambers are interchangeable
between H2's and H4's so there is a good chance that it can also
be done on HS's.

Scott,
According to the Haynes SU book, those carbs are HS2's and are
intended for a 71-72 Midget 1275. HS2s have a 1-1/4" throttle bore and HS4s
are 1-1/2". I think you'll be disappointed in their performance on your B
regardless of how well they're rebuilt;-)
