Good question. I have the Crane electronic ignition on my 80 MGB. It seems
to run great with the vacuum advance not hooked up (that way when I bought
it). I have always wondered why it wasn't hooked up. I downloaded
installation instructions for the Crane Fireball from their web site and it
doesn't say anything about not hooking up the vacuum advance in the
instructions.

Charley,
I can't really answer this as I know nothing about them myself, but I am
guessing it is because the Ignition control computer needs the
weights/springs taken out of the equation for it to be able to do it's
stuff. Some one else will surely answer this one for us! <G>
Cheers,
Neil
