NO ONE seems to recall, that in most cases, these wires are TWENTY years old and are far from new shinny bare copper. Wires HAVE to be CLEANED to "as new" condition otherwise you could use an entire roll of solder and still not have a good connection. I would also add that for most automotive applications (wire size) the small irons being discussed will NOT do the job. Cheers........... Ed |
