Tony, I have a similar setup on my MGB and at 60-65 I hit the same rev range. The only thing you can do is swap the old 4speed tranny for one with an overdrive. Don't bother asking if you can add an OD to your existing 4speed. You will get flame mail and be told to look at the darn archives. It can't be done at a reasonable cost. I believe that in prime years of our MG's people just drove slower. Enrique |
