Hi Bill, Have you checked the battery connections on the '66? Or the battery (batteries?) could be dying. Since it wouldn't crank at all I'd look there first. Need a compression check on the '72. The spark has to go somewhere when the plug wire is disconnected, so it's jumping the dizzy cap. Not good for it but won't do any immediate harm. Cheers, CR |
