Brake Pads

I need to replace the front brake pads on my MGB roadster. I notice that 
Moss has three types: The V-8, which at $79.95 are out of the question. 
Standard for 19.95. And Semi Metallic for $29.95. What's the $10 
difference? Do they last longer? Will they eat up my rotors? Can I even 
use them? Also, what other bits should I replace for a safe and thorough 
job? Thanks in advance.
