I was exaggerating slightly for comic effect, I admit... but I think I'd
try to think of some other way if it were my car (someone else's car, no
problem). What if you just try to start the car in gear? Not nearly as
much clutch-loosening impact, I'm afraid. Hmmm... if things are really
that stuck, I would conceivably surrender to the obvious and just do a
clutch replacement. I have enough practice pulling the engine, I could
have it out and in in a weekend. Otherwise, you got me...
