I put Pirelli P400's on my car four years ago, and they are still going 
strong (30,000 miles later).  They are sold as 75k mile tires.  I put 185/75 
R 14s on, and I like them very much.  They fit my '77 MGB with Rostyle 
wheels, and fill the wheel arches nicely.  Excellent wet/dry traction, 
excellent wear, and pretty good snow traction as well.  I think I paid $250 
for a set of four, mounted, and balanced.  Make sure to get an allignment 
with the new tires!
