Let's ask Carl,
I think it's due to the fact:
1 I'm Dutch
2 You're English
3 Carl lives in New England.....
Carl please give us a clue!
Cheers,
Hans
p.s. my feeling says revving up untill the usable torque is available.
Otherwise does not work I think, unless you're driving a diesel - works fine
in traffic jams though.

I understand 'revving up' and 'torque' but still don't get 'revving up to
"torque"'. I did wonder if 'loading up' meant the idle revs were dropping
towards stall, but 'revving up' is the opposite in my parlance.
