I have two speakers in the doors and two in the panels behind the doors.
Those in the panels behind the seats are especially useful with top down at
speed.  In the GT, I put one front speaker in the underdash panel on the
passenger side and one behind the console, facing out towards the driver's
side - this eliminates the problem of a leg blocking a door speaker.
