Listers, I am about to go through the spring lube ritual. My owners manual calls for "Multi-purpose Lithium grease, NLGI Consistency 2" for all of the grease points. What is the meaning of "NLGI" and what is meant by consistency 2 ? Is there a US equivalent ? What about newer moly based grease ? Is is better ? I had heard that it is bad to mix moly and lithium grease. Is this true ? Thanks as always. Cheers, Gene Balinski '80B |
