Happy Sunday, all... Just had the chance to take Max's
advice and swap my tires front-to-rear and presto!
shimmy was reduced by about 90%! I'm thinking the
remaining shake may be due to the fact that the former
front tires (now sitting on the rear) are causing it
by being out of balance. I did check to see whether
the tires were out-of-round, and they appear to be
okay. So, Tuesday, I'm going to have all 4 tires
balanced and maybe an alingment as well (since I've
never done one in 12 years of owning the car....). Of
course, now, with 195s on the front and 175s on the
rear, the B kind of looks like a mid-60's SuperStock
Dodge! Just need to put that fake 6-71 blower on the
hood...
I also looked at my bushings and they appear to be a
little shoddy, so I think I will replace them over the
winter. Everything under there really needs to be
do-gooked
As always, thanks to the MANY of you that responded
both on and off-list... I'll file a final report once
I get this stuff done.
Tally-Ho!
