Further to Hans's comment re wear in diff, (for a Salisbury, (often referred
to as a 'tube type diff', as opposed to a 'banjo diff' )) a large amount of
this can be attributed to wear in the thrust washers in the differential
gears. These can be replaced, quite cheaply, without removing the rear axle
assembly from the car. I cant remember if there was a thread on how to do
this on this list, or on www.mgcars.org.uk
