Given my calucation in the earlier email, we have: 1. a UK gallon is 20% larger than a US gallon and 2. a US gallon is 17% smaller than a UK gallon. Not the 25%/20% figures given earlier. As I mentioned, it is a common misconception that the fluid oz measures are the same. Check it out! But use the real figure for a US gallon in litres: 3.785, not 3.6. Simon |
