<<<I was at our MG club (British Sports Car Club in Burlington, Ont. Canada)
meeting on Tuesday and they mentioned a Cleveland 2000 MG gathering in June.
It sounds like a good time to see the Rock and Roll hall of fame. Does anyone
have any details on the event?>>>
MG 2000 is the Ninth Annual North American MGB Register International
Convention which will be held June 15-18, 2000. The Emerald Necklace MG
Register will host the convention which will be headquartered at the Holiday
Inn Independence at Rockside and Interstate 77.
The agenda includes a shuttle to the very Rock and Roll Hall of Fame that
Doug refers to which is close to other attractions like the U.S.S. Cod, the
Mather ore carrier, and the Great Lakes Science Center. There will be trips
on the Cuyahoga River on the Goodtime III cruise boat as well as an evening
trip (with shuttle service available) to the banks of the Cuyahoga for an
evenings fun in the Flats entertainment district.
Of course there will be plenty of MG based activities including
self-conducted driving tours of the historic Cuyahoga River Valley and the
Emerald Necklace Park System, the MG Olympics Funkhana, Valve Cover racing,
the car show with popular vote judging or optional Concours Judging (at
additional cost - must be a current NAMGBR member to enter Concours) and of
course the ever popular Parking Lot Parties.
It is all going to be way fun. I am organizing a 2 day scenic caravan from
Chicago to Cleveland and I just can't wait.
