Man, what I can't believe is the labor cost! Sounds more like the '30s
than the '70s. Madisonville, Tennessee seems like an out-of-the-way place
to be stocking race-prepped MG engines... but maybe there was a local
track?
Guy Moscato had this to say:
>To go along with this thread, I have a catalog of remanufactured exchange
>engines from the early 70s from Foreign Cars Service of Madisionville, Tn.
>They had 3 price ranges for: Stock engines, Modified- ported, Modified -
>ported with racing cam. TC,TD,TF, all MGA except
>twin cam -$169,$184,$219 MGB 3 or 5 main -$174,$194,$219
> Midget $174,$189,$214. Balancing $29. Freight rates $8 to $10
>in the USA. They would install the engine in your car in 8hrs for $30.
