To the best of my knowledge, there was only one type of spare tyre clamp
used throughout the production of the MGA. It reaches from the floor of
the boot to about one inch past the top of the tire tread, and was fastened
with a big wing nut and an eye bolt which was pinned to a shallow steel
loop plate welded to the boot floor.
