The Judson supercharger only produces about 5.5 PSI. And the increase in
power, in the MGA, is not substantial enough to shorten the engine life much
(Judson's literature claims of a 50% increase in power is just not
accurate). However, if placing any supercharger on a worn out engine you
will start to notice signs of wear soon(er).

If you want to just have the looks of a Judson, and don't believe that it
doesn't hinder your engine's life, you can install it and get a different
diameter pulley machined so that it puts out even less boost.

A "happy" engine, that has it's oil changed every 3000 miles and who's owner
loves it dearly will live quite well with a Judson attached.

You've got to be careful when shopping for a Judson. They vary in price
tremendously! Don't spend more than $1200... you can buy a rebuilt Judson
kit for just a tad more! Good complete kits with nice vanes should carry a
value of $750-900. Lately, you can see many overpriced Judson's on eBay
(including one a while ago which sold for $2700). Shop around, there are
60,000+ Judson blowers scattered around the globe.
