A product called Goof Off is very good at removing glue and tape residue
and is commonly available. It comes in a small can similar to lighter
fluid, which, by the way, is equally good at this sort of thing and
doesn't seem to harm paint, either. I suspect Goof Off is really lighter
fluid, or at least very similar (possibly less flammable?).
Alan Claffie had this to say:
>After painting the Rostyle wheels on my '71 B I realized I used cheap
>masking tape while masking off the silver to paint the black (too cheap to
>spring for a wheel mask I guess), and some of the glue is still on my
>relatively fresh silver paint.
>
>What's good to remove the goo without making me respray the silver? Bonus
>points to anyone who can tell me what I need can be located in KMart, as
>there is one within walking distance from home.
>
>Many thanks in advance.
