not that the others are wrong, but here is how I like do it:
-pull the head while in the car (assuming you need to pull it anyway).
I like to use engine compression to crack the seal; it seems to save my
banging with a big hammer.
-use any two opposing head bolt holes ie., front left and rear right.
This prosess leaves me with less weight and size to deal with as the
power train comes out.
